Noism2 is a local dance troupe founded in 2009 as a training company for talented young dancers. Many Noism2 members go on to perform internationally or join the parent group, Noism1.

Niigata is one of the three designated Culture Cities of East Asia for 2015. The Culture Cities of East Asia project encourages exchange, mutual understanding, and promotion of the Arts among China, South Korea, and Japan. In celebration of Niigata’s designation, artists from China and Korea will be performing at events in Niigata throughout the year.

On 5/2 （Sat）、 the Niigata City Jr. Choir will perform a song in Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.

The banks of the Shinano River will be converted into a fantasy world of light and sound, featuring air balloons and light-ups of nearby structures, including the Bandai Bridge, a 6 arch stone bridge designated as an Important Cultural Property.

The theme of this year’s classical music festival La Folle Journee is “Passion: Composers in Love.” Music and projection mapping of the Niigata Prefectural Civic Center.
